State Senator Cristina Castro represents the 22nd District, which includes all or part of 10 different communities located within Cook and Kane County. She is a second-generation Mexican-American and lifelong district resident who is committed to her community and to public service.

Passion and Proven Leadership
Senator Castro has a proven track record of getting things done in Springfield and always putting the needs of the 22nd District first. As State Senator she helped get Illinois back on track to a balanced budget, passed comprehensive ethics reform to root out government corruption, championed legislation that protects our environment and creates jobs, and has always looked for ways to protect our most vulnerable populations. She has shown that she can get the job done and she will continue looking for ways to improve the lives of families throughout her district and Illinois.
