People elected to public office should be held to the highest standard. Sen. Castro wanted to get rid of corruption in our government and she did so by co-sponsoring the most comprehensive ethics legislation in over two decades. This legislation includes prohibiting elected officials from lobbying other units of government and banning all political fundraisers during legislative sessions to ensure that electeds are focused solely on representing the best interests of their constituents.
